Writing and Marketing Services for the High-Tech Industry

Known for a concise and compelling writing style, Rob Catterton launched Direct Communications in 1989. Focused on creating marketing materials for the technology industry, Rob has partnered in the development of a diverse range of product-focused collateral, including high-end brochures, solution briefs, print ads, and success stories.

In working with businesses such as Tropos Networks, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Cadence Design Systems, and Juniper Networks, Rob has developed a business model that combines the highest possible quality combined with unusually responsive service. “It's rare when we don't hit the 80% accuracy threshold on the first draft,” Rob remarked. “It should only take two sets of revisions to go to final, or at least be very close. Not always, but it's a good goal.”

The development process is based on close collaboration with product managers and/or marketing managers who are responsible for introducing new products and technologies. Using this model, Direct Communications has created successful presentations on a wide variety of subjects, including 3G wireless broadband, nanotechnology, next-generation enterprise data storage, terabyte routing, Voice over IP (VoIP), network security and management, and corporate social responsibility as it relates to environmental issues.

Other clients include Cisco Systems, PG&E, Nortel Networks, Spirent Communications, Qualcomm, 3Com, HP, Nokia, Oracle, SonicWALL, Novell, Fujitsu, Unisys, Intuit, and others.

Additional services include scalable, turnkey services for a wide range of projects, including design capabilities for the creation of both printed materials and websites.
